Asian Pacific Islander Teen Alliance of Chicago (APITAC) was formed in the summer of 2019 by Amy Chen, Kelly Liu, and Sara Zhang in hopes to create a more collaborative network between APIA-identity based student organizations across CPS schools. This initiative came from a desire to unite the APIA teen community after seeing the competitive mindsets between different schools. Our inaugural project was a dance showcase displaying the multi-faceted talents of APIA students from across the city. As APITAC grows, our goal is to continually support APIA Chicagoan teens in creating leadership opportunities, forming meaningful connections, and learning the nuances of the Asian Pacific Islander American experience as a whole.
